GLYMPTON ABERDEEN ANGUS

Glympton Park Estate, 12 miles north of Oxford, is home to the Glympton Aberdeen Angus Herd. The herd, established in 1993, has since grown to more than 60 cows. We are committed to enhancing the quality of our herd. We have purchased some notable females over the years; including Castle of May Etrilla 15th and Jace Erica of the Chines. As a result of this policy we have won many Summer Shows Championships and our name is now at the forefront on the show circuit.

Particular points of note are:

  • We produce quality young bulls and females for both pedigree and commercial herds.
  • All our bulls are given a veterinary inspection prior to delivery and an appropriate certificate accompanies the animal.
  • All our stock are ABRI recorded, and figures are available on request.
  • The herd summers on the Estate's extensive grass parks and is in-wintered in two specially constructed livestock units.
  • The herd is a member of the S.A.C. Premium Cattle Health Scheme and has aquired Johne's Disease Free status.
  • The late Norman Thomas managed the herd from its foundation until November 2006. Norman was a member of the Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society Council and Executive for a number of years and judged at major shows throughout the UK.
  • Head Stockman Andrew Robinson was appointed in September 2005. He was awarded an HND at West of Scotland College of Agriculture. Andrew came to Glympton from P.C. Stovold & Son, where he was Stock Manager for the Rosemead Aberdeen Angus Herd. Previously he had been Head Stockman for North Standen Aberdeen Angus.
  • Alongside our pedigree herd we run a Quality Assured commercial Aberdeen Angus beef enterprise. We include Waitrose amongst our customers.
